My journey into trading didn’t start with clarity - it began with confusion, mistakes, and extensive learning through trial and error.

Over the past five years, I’ve spent an incredible amount of time, money, and energy chasing one thing: true understanding of the markets. When I first began trading, I was a day trader focused heavily on cryptocurrencies. Like many beginners, I spent countless hours scanning online forums for ideas, without a clear analytical framework. While I had occasional successes, inconsistency highlighted the need for stronger education and structure.

At the time, I was working full-time as a high school math teacher and personal trainer. I loved working with students and helping people grow - but deep down, I knew I didn’t want to be limited by a system that controlled what I could teach, how I could grow, and how far I could go. I wanted freedom - spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and in how I approach learning and teaching.

That desire pushed me to fully commit to studying market behavior and market structure.. Over the last five years, I studied under various traders, explored multiple trading styles, and tested countless tools and indicators. I invested heavily - not just financially, but mentally and emotionally - into learning how the stock market truly functions. And like many traders stepping into a new world, I often felt overwhelmed. I felt pressure to improve my understanding and develop clarity as quickly as possible.

I vividly remember looking at my charts covered in indicators, moving averages, and signals - what I jokingly called a big bowl of spaghetti… or gumbo soup. It was chaos. With so many tools competing for attention, it became nearly impossible to analyze market behavior clearly or make disciplined analytical decisions.

That’s when it clicked.

There was a real need for simplicity and clarity - especially for newer traders, but even for experienced ones. The market didn’t need more noise. It needed structure, discipline, and clear, interpretable information.

That realization led to the creation of what is now known as the Byrd Combo Indicator or Byrd Indicator for short. This indicator has been in the making since the day I started trading. It was built to reduce visual noise and support clearer chart interpretation and market analysis for learners at all experience levels. The goal is simple: give learners a disciplined and structured analytical framework for evaluating market behavior.

Teaching and training have always been at the core of who I am. I’ve taken those same skills and applied them to trading - helping others develop confidence, structure, and clarity in their learning journey. I’m excited to finally share this tool with the world and support learners in becoming more disciplined and informed in their approach to market analysis and beyond.
